Projection
Originally using recorded instruments, Projection is an electro-acoustic recording for fixed media inspired by the idea of someone visiting a far-away planet and experiencing the environment. The audience is encouraged to use their imagination, envisioning the sounds as sensors the body would experience while walking on a celestial body with different materials, gravitational pulls, and possibly the discovery of life. This project includes minimal motifs played on a flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, violin, trombone, and rainstick. The sounds are filtered with electronic adjustments in Logic software, using combinations of delays, distortion, and reverb to create this meditative simulation. This piece premiered at the Cohen Hall during the Sonic Exploration concert in October 2025. The concert was in connection with the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
