Mystical Dream is a single-movement orchestral piece inspired by a kid’s imagination as they lie down at night to sleep. We then watch the events of their wild magical dream as the child goes on multiple adventures, flying through multiple universes, meeting bizarre creatures, solving mysteries, and experiencing the most abundant joy ever. The audience is encouraged to let their own imagination explore some of those possible paths. The piece ends with the child still dreaming. Nearly woken by an unexpected sound, the child continues to sleep while the parents tiptoe away, watching their baby innocently live out their imagination.
Instrumentation: 2 (1-piccolo)-2 (1-English Horn)-2-2 | 4-3-3-1 | Timp | 3 | Hap Cel | Strings 12-12-8-8-4
Percussion: Glockenspiel, Crash Cymbal, Suspended Cymbal, and Bass Drum
Time Duration: 6:30
